JJ Hamilton Wins Pro Late Model Main Event

South Sound Speedway on Saturday August 12, 2023, was full of excitement with five classes on hand. D&S Light Truck and Auto Pro Late Model, 10 cars for 50-laps, Cut Rate Auto Part Vintage Modifieds, 10 cars for 30-laps, Lexar Homes Legends, 13 cars for 35-laps, Cut Rate Auto Parts Baby Grands, 7 cars for 25-laps, and Quality Quick Lube-n-Tune Bandoleros, 9 cars for 15-laps.
Pro Late Model Main Event started with Matt Klaas on the pole, and Scott Rinkel on the outside. Coming to the green flag, Klaas spins and collects Kurt Meyer, Rinkel, and Sean Riley, bringing out caution number 1 and a red flag. Marshall Petersen takes the lead on lap 1. Trevor Flora takes the lead on lap 2. JJ Hamilton takes the lead on lap 19 and goes on to win the Pro Late Model 50-lap Main event, followed by Flora, Tom Sweatman, Petersen, and Kurt Meyer to round out the top five.
JJ Hamilton had a fast time of 14.138.
Trevor Flora won the A heat race and Matt Klaas won the B heat race.
Vintage Modifieds Main Event started with Dave Larson on the pole, and Joey Cavin on the outside. The front row ended up going to the back, because they had two attempts of a good start. New front row was Bob Fulmer on the pole and Mike Duman on the outside. Duman takes the lead on lap 1. Fulmer takes the lead on lap 2. Paul Field takes the lead on lap 6 and goes on to win the Vintage Modifieds 30-lap Main event, followed by Fulmer, Duman, Brian Wilson, and George Chambers to round out the top five.
Paul Field had a fast time of 15.040.
George Chambers won the A heat race and Joey Cavin won the B heat race.
Legend Main Event started with Curt Boyle on the pole, and Allie-Mae Jones on the outside. After the green flag, turn 4, Hayden Ogle spins, bringing out caution number 1. Curt Boyle takes the lead on lap 1. William Evans takes the lead on lap 5. Rick McNeill takes the lead on lap 7. On lap 9, turns 3 & 4, Corey Boyle spins, bringing out caution number 2. Chris Bellanca takes the lead on lap 16. On lap 24, turns 3 & 4, Corey Boyle spins again, bringing out caution number 3. Bellanca goes on to win the Legends 35-lap Main event, followed Kyle Kinzebach, Andrew Riehl, McNeill, and Davis Jacobson to round out the top five.
Chris Bellanca had a fast time of 15.417.
Kyle Kinzebach won the A heat race, and Corey Boyle won the B heat race.
Baby Grand Main Event started with William Potts on the pole, and Peyton Presley on the outside. Potts takes the lead on lap 1. Steven Mitchell takes the lead on lap 2. Shawn Jones takes the lead on lap 9. On lap 12, turn 2, Jamison Johnson spins, bringing out caution number 1. Jones goes on to win the Baby Grands 25-lap Main event, followed Jack Franks, Derrick Presley, Mitchell, and Johnson to round out the top five.
Derrick Presley had a fast time of 15.184.
Shawn Jones won the heat race.
Bandolero Main Event started with Tyson Behn on the pole, Behn takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 9, turn 4, Behn spins, bringing out caution number 1. Alexander Boyatt takes the lead on lap 10. On lap 10 turn 4, Behn spins again, bringing out caution number 2. Boyatt goes on to win the Bandolero 15-lap Main event, followed Bishop Brothers, Hemi Franks, Jace Ellis, and Rylan Presley to round out the top five.
Tyson Behn had a fast time of 18.085.
