Preston Duman Wins Vintage Modifieds Main Event

South Sound Speedway on Saturday May 12, 2023 was full of excitement with five classes on hand Cut Rate Auto Parts Vintage Modifieds, 8 cars for 30-laps, Lexar Homes Legends, 11 cars for 30-laps, Cut Rate Auto Part Baby Grands, 10 cars for 25-laps, Quality Quick Lube and Tune Bandoleros, 10 cars for 15-laps, and Bump to Pass, 22 cars for 20-laps.
Vintage Modified Main Event started with George Chambers on the pole, and Joey Cavin on the outside. Cavin takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 16, back stretch, Cavin and Brian Wilson get together, bringing out caution number 1. Preston Duman takes the lead on lap 17 and goes on to win the Vintage Modified 30-lap Main event, followed by Bob Fulmer, Chambers, Wilson and Ron Jackson to round out the top five.
Preston Duman had a fast time of 15.121.
Joey Cavin wins the heat race.
Legend’s Main Event started with Gary Tucker on the pole, and William Evans on the outside. Evans takes the lead on lap 1. Kyle Kinzebach takes the lead on lap 10. Garret Archer takes the lead on lap 11. Chris Bellanca takes the lead on lap 12. On lap 18, turn one, Connor Morris goes into the wall, bringing caution number 1 and a red flag. Bellanca goes on to win the Legend’s 30-lap Main event, followed by Archer, Dylan Wolf, Kinzebach, and Tracy Warren to round out the top five.
Chris Bellanca had a fast time of 15.216 (new track record).

William Evans wins the B heat race.
Baby Grand Main Event started with Zackary Boyatt on the pole, and Tyler Baker on the outside. After the green flag, turns 1 & 2, Jamison Johnson spins, bringing out caution number 1. Baker takes the lead on lap 1. Connor Morris takes the lead on lap 2. On lap 4, turns 3 and 4, Jack Franks and Baker get together, bringing out caution number 2. Shawn Jones takes the lead on lap 5. On lap 15 coming out of turn 4, Baker spins and hits the wall, bringing out caution number 3. Jones goes on to win the Baby Grands 25-lap Main event, followed by Derrick Presley, Steven Mitchell, Franks, and Brendan Presley to round out the top five.
Shawn Jones had a fast time of 14.841 (new track record).

Connor Morris wins the B heat race.
Bandolero Main Event started with Alexander Boyatt on the pole, and Cole Dasenbrock on the outside. After the green flag, turns 3 & 4, Hemi Franks and Bishop Brothers get together and spin, bringing out caution number 1. Boyatt takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 2, turn 4, Bishop Brothers, Franks and Tyson Behn get together and hit the wall, bringing out caution number 2 and red flag. Boyatt goes on to win the Bandolero 15-lap Main event, followed by Dasenbrock, Carter Sweatman, Jace Ellis, and Rylan Presley to round out the top five.
Alexander Boyatt had a fast time of 17.840 (new track record).

Bump to Pass Main event started with Anthony Holms on the pole, and Bruce Holmes on the outside. Kyle Sitherwood takes the lead on 1. Mike Charles takes the lead on lap 5. Kylee Timlick takes the lead on lap 11. Sitherwood re-takes the lead on lap 14. Mike Charles re-takes the lead on lap 15 and goes on to win the 20-lap Bump to Pass Main event.
Mike Charles had a fast time of 17.507.
