Josh Pinkowsky Wins Street Stock Main Event

Racing at South Sound Speedway on Saturday May 26th was filled with racing action. In the Street Stock Main event Greg Davidson starts on the pole with Steve Prissel on the outside. Prissel takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 3, on the back stretch, Richard Kerr unintentionally gets into Dan Walker and Walker spins. Mike Carlson takes the lead on lap 9. On lap 9, turn 4 Prissel spins and comes out in front of the leaders to bring out the 2nd caution of the race. On lap 20, Pinkowsky shoots to the outside and jumps into 4th place. On lap 21, turn 2, Mike Kanavan spins, Kevin Carver and Kanavan leave the track. On lap 25, turn 1, Carlson’s motor blew up and other racers slide in his oil. On lap 26, Pinkowsky takes the lead and goes on to win the 35 lap Street Stock main event, followed by Walker, Kerr, Arnold Norton and Shawn Jones to round out the top 5.

 

Mini Stock Main event starts with Jim Belter on the pole and Josh McMillan on the outside. Belter takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 5, Bill Hansel and Zach Dalrymple exit the track. On lap 7, Josh McMillan spins on the back stretch. On lap 8, Jon Baglien takes over the lead. Belter gets a mechanical flag for dumping gas. Hansel and Dalrymple return to the track. On lap 19, on the back stretch, Devin Matthews accidentally taps Baglien and spins him.  Renny Marose takes the lead on lap 20, same lap, turn 3 and 4 Tina McMillan goes 3 wide and spins in front of Kevin Conway, both go to the back of the pack. On lap 23, John Morse takes the lead and goes on to win the 35 lap Mini Stock main event, followed by Scott Maynard, Marose, Kyle Matthews and Freeman Pruitt to round out the top 5.

 

Hobby Stock Main event starts with Doug Baird on the pole and Michael Martinez on the outside. Baird takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 2, Bryson Baird spins and stops on the back stretch going into turn 3. On lap 6, on the front stretch, going into turn 1, Doug Baird spins and Don Briggs Jr. takes over the lead. On lap 19, Todd Pederson gets Briggs Jr. sideways and Briggs Jr. holds on to the lead. On lap 23, Briggs Jr. and Dan Walker are side by side, Briggs Jr. keeps the lead. On lap 25, Walker spins Briggs Jr., Pederson takes over the lead. Walker takes the lead on lap 30 and wins the 30 lap Hobby Stock main event, followed by Pederson, Brian Wilson, Martinez, and Doug Baird to round out the top 5.

 

Legend Main event starts with Brent Mack on the pole with Randy Beddow on the outside. Beddow takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 2, Duane Swanson takes the lead. Rick McNeill takes the lead on lap 4. On lap 13, Jim Landon takes the lead and goes on to win the Legend 25 lap main event (moving him form 3rd in points to 1st), followed by McNeill, Swanson, Beddow, and Parker Stephens to round out the top 5.

 

Bump to Pass Main event starts with Doug Baird on Pole and Zack Floreck on the outside. Floreck takes the lead on lap 1. Greg Schlund goes into the middle for an unknown problem. Baird goes to middle on lap 2. Floreck gores on to win the 20 lap Bump to Pass main event, followed by Grant Charneski, Charles LaMere, Ron Schlund Sr., and Richard Woolverton to round out the top 5.
