Bob Presley Wins the Super Late Model Main Event

Racing at South Sound Speedway on Saturday August 18, 2012, was full of excitement with five classes on hand, Super Late Model, Top Notch Trailer Street Stocks, Olympic Trailer and Truck Accessories Bumblebees, NW PRO 4 Trucks, and WMRA.
Super Late Model Main event started with Rod Schultz Sr. on the pole and Tommy Elstoen on the outside. Elstoen takes the lead on lap 1. Schultz Sr. takes the lead on lap 3. On lap 11, turn 4, Tim Minister spins and Bob Presley exits the track and returns restarting the race in the back of the pack. Dan Obrist takes the lead on lap 13. On lap 38, turn 4, John Lathrop Jr. spins. On lap 45, turn 3, Kelly Mann bumps Obrist they both spin and restart the race in the back of the pack. Presley takes the lead on lap 46. On lap 53, turn 3, Obrist comes down on Mann. Obrist loses his steering and hits the wall. Mann goes to the back of the pack. Presley goes on to win the 100 lap Super Late Model Main Event with only 4 cars on the lead lap. Finishing out the top five are Bart Smith, Mann, Doni Wanat, and JJ Hamilton.
Street Stock Main event started with Greg Davidson on the pole and Mike Kanavan on the outside. Davidson takes the lead on lap 1. Kanavan takes the lead on lap 2. Shawn Jones takes the lead on lap 5. On lap 15, turn 3, Ryan Kerr, Anthony Barbera and Dan Walker spin. Ryan Kerr exits the track on lap 24. On lap 28, Jones exits the track with a distributor cap problem and Cody Erskine takes over the lead. Erskine goes on to win the 30 lap Street Stock Main Event, followed by Richard Kerr, Walker, Barbera, and Arnold Norton to round out the top 5.
Bumblebee Main event started with Dennis Lalander on the pole and Ryan Snow on the outside. Greg Schlund takes the lead on lap 1. Snow gets black flagged for spinning Lalander on lap 1. Bryson Baird exits the track on lap 2. Lalander exits the track on lap 13. Anthony Gerber gets black fagged on lap 14. Greg Schlund goes on to win the 20 lap Bumblebee Main Event, which ended with a record of no cautions or cone being hit. Finishing out the top five are Charles LaMere, Ron Schlund Sr., Erika Schlund and Steve Pierson.
Pro 4 Truck Main Event started with Mike Tipps on the pole and Doug Wilkinson on the outside. Doug Wilkinson takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 1, on the back stretch, Tipps spins in his own oil and exits the track. On lap 3, Jason Majors takes the lead and goes on to win the 30 lap Pro 4 Truck Main event, followed by Doug Wilkinson, Mike Wiley, Kevin Bell, and Phil Willis to round out the top 5.
WMRA Main event started with Skeet Flake on the pole and Ray Jones on the outside. Flake takes the lead on lap 1. Mitch Hoffses takes the lead on lap 2. Al Goldie exits the track on lap 3. On lap 20, on the front stretch, Kris McKenzie slows. Hoffses goes on to win the 30 lap WMRA Main event with only two cars on the lead lap. Finishing out the top five are Troy Globe, James Pirie, Flake and McKenzie.
