Isaac Harder Wins NABRR Big Rigs Main Event

Racing at South Sound Speedway on Saturday July 21st, was full of excitement with four classes on hand, NABRR Big Rigs, D&S Light Truck and Auto Mini Stocks, Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks and Olympic Trailer and Truck Accessories Bumblebees.

 

Big Rig Main event started with Ron Singer on the pole and Terrill Schmidt on the outside. Schmidt takes the lead on lap 1.  Glen Creed takes the lead on lap 3. On lap 4, turn 2, Harder spins. On lap 15, turn 4, Bobby Fowler spins and has to be towed off with a flat tire. Coming out of turn four to finish up lap 16, Darren Berdahl and Glen Creed are side by side for the lead. Both trucks start to swerve, Creed collects his truck while Berdahl hits the wall on the front stretch right before the flag stand, and slides all the way into turn one, losing pieces of this truck along the way. Creed gets sent to the back of the pack for being involved in the accident. On lap 16, Singer takes the lead.  Harder takes the lead on lap 20 and goes on to win the 35 lap Big Rig Main Event, followed by Creed, Singer, Schmidt, and Mike “Spike” Browning to round out the top 5.

 

Mini Stock Main event started with Devin Matthews on the pole and Bill Hayes on the outside. Matthews takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 7, turns 3 and 4, Grant Charneski and Tina McMillan slide up the track, McMillan starts to spin, Scott Maynard slows to avoid, Craig Pfander slows to miss Maynard, and Zach Dalrymple slides into the rear of Maynard’s car. On the restart, Charneski gets black flagged for passing before the green. On lap 16, Kevin Conway gets black flagged for spinning Kyle Matthews. Maynard takes the lead on lap 20 and goes on to win the 35 lap Mini Stock Main Event, followed by John Morse, Shayne Huson, Jon Baglien and Tina McMillan to round out the top 5.

 

Hobby Stock Main event started with Richard Woolverton on the pole and Jason Lohmann on the outside. Matt Duffey takes the lead on lap 1. Joe Swanson takes the lead on lap 2. On lap 7, turn 2, Duffey slides up too far and spins Dan Walker. Both drivers are sent to the back of the pack. On the restart, Walker gets black flagged for passing before the green flag. Todd Pedersen takes the lead on lap 8 and goes on to win the 25 lap Hobby Stock Main Event, followed by Swanson, Don Briggs Jr., Bryson Baird and Duffey to round out the top 5.

 

Bumblebee Main event started with Dennis Lalander on the pole and Zach Floreck on the outside. Floreck takes the lead on lap 1. On lap 6, Bryce Randall gets black flagged for taking out the cone. Caution comes out on lap 7 for debris and resetting of the course. On lap 16, Jake Mills takes the lead and goes on to win the 20 lap Bumblebee Main Event, followed by Charles LaMere, Chris Branon, Steve Pierson and Ryan Snow to round out the top 5.
